Counsel introductions
A warm introduction, not a cold list.
LicenceMap's operator holds longstanding personal and professional relationships with counsel and advisers in every jurisdiction we cover, built through taking regulated entities through these regimes first-hand. On request, we will personally introduce you to the right counsel for your matter.
Counsel Introduction Terms
Last updated: 2 July 2026. These terms apply to any client requesting an introduction and form part of our Terms of Service.
1. Nature of the service
An introduction is the facilitation of contact only. LicenceMap is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or reserved legal services. LicenceMap is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any engagement you may subsequently enter with an introduced person or entity, and gives no warranty as to any introduced party's suitability, availability, capacity, regulatory standing or performance. Any engagement is negotiated, agreed and contracted exclusively between you and the introduced party, on that party's own terms.
2. Introducer fee
In consideration of an introduction, which leverages the operator's personal and business relationships, an introducer fee of £3,500 (or the local-currency equivalent at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of each invoice) is payable by you in three stages:
(a) £500, payable in advance of the introductory call, and non-refundable once that call has taken place;
(b) £1,500, payable upon your execution of an engagement letter, retainer or equivalent instrument with the introduced person or entity (or any of its affiliates), where such execution occurs within twelve months of the introduction; and
(c) £1,500, payable upon the expiry of thirty days from the commencement of that engagement, provided the engagement has not been terminated within that period.
Stages (b) and (c) fall due only upon the occurrence of the relevant trigger event. Each stage is invoiced separately and is payable within fourteen days of invoice. All amounts are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, which are chargeable in addition where required.
3. Disclosure and independence
The introducer fee is payable by you alone; LicenceMap receives no fee, commission or other consideration from any introduced party in respect of your engagement. An introduction imposes no obligation on you to engage the introduced party, nor on the introduced party to accept the engagement, and you remain free at all times to instruct any adviser of your choosing. The existence of this introducer arrangement will be disclosed by us to the introduced party, and you consent to your name and a summary of your requirements being shared with them for the purpose of effecting the introduction.
4. Non-circumvention
If, having received an introduction, you or any of your affiliates enter into an engagement with the introduced party or any of its affiliates within twelve months of the introduction, stages (b) and (c) become payable in accordance with clause 2, notwithstanding any intermediate steps, entities or arrangements.
5. General
Nothing in these terms creates any partnership, agency, joint venture or fiduciary relationship. Introductions are made at the operator's sole discretion and availability is not guaranteed. These terms are governed by the law applicable to our Terms of Service.
